Shiny and often mistaken for mundane gemstones, artstones are crystallized geological formations that occur where the good gribbly stuff of the planet wells up and makes things strange. They are used by the Order as an aid in the magical practices they call the Art. Originally believed to be peculiar to Raekarta, they have since been discovered to be naturally occurring on Kaerwyn as well.
