() Race/Species: Wastelander (human in the northern icelands of planet Kole, adapted to the location as will be stated)

() Gender: Male

() Phenotypical Age: 30’s

() Actual Character Age: 23 (Dec 22, Solstice)

() Home Territory: Iceland Peaks (late-middle ages earth period)

() Height: 6’0”

() Weight: 170

() Physical Build: Lean musculature

() Physical Description: Winter is entirely white, including all hair, as though the color has been stolen from him. His eyes are an icy blue. His hair he has allowed to grow out, and is now down to his shoulders. The clothing he wears is also white, as best for hiding in the snowy lands, and sewn out of a cloth that resists staining, except by blood or inks (strong stains). Loose breeches tucked into leather boots, a simple frog-buttoned tunic of thigh-length covered by a long coat held closed by straps in front. A light chainmail lays under the tunic against his skin, torso only.

() Personality: Calm most of the time, though becomes more agitated the warmer he gets, even without his adaptation. Fairly amiable to friends, has opened enought to try and make friends. Very serious about oaths. Sudden shifts in a situation, or the control of one, make him easily agitated. Mildly techno-phobic, and pyro-phobic. Since his time on Kaerwyn, he has become more open and more prone to happy or at least content moods.

() Special Note: Due to his possession leaving what is best described as a "gaping hole in soul and mind", Winter is particularly weak to telepathy and mental/phsyical possession. He has realized this about telepathy, and as a result tries not to think about certain. . .potentially embarassing/insulting things around known telepaths.

() Personal Information, History, Background:
Kole Basic Info--Four kingdoms/countries: Icelands (no king), Southlands (Empire), Sunset Kingdom (Queen), and the Nomad Plains (none). While the Wastelander language (Icelands) resembles Earth's German, the Southlands' is closer to English. Magic exists in the form of sorcery, wielded only by specific people trained in secret Keeps. Lyconthropy is considered a Divine Disease, and its afflicted all bear a mark on their foreheads. Gods do not have active roles; semi-gods (like Erlkonig) seek to be directly involved. Oaths are taken extremely serious, even by the lying/cheating. One hidden continent to the far west has technology (equiv. WWI), has once waged war on the Southlands as invasion.

Character Info--As a child born in the Icelands, Winter had no name. It was believed that only the strongest, the ones worthy of names, would survive till their third birthday. He was a normal child, looking much like his father with brown hair and deep blue eyes. He held a fascination with the changing of seasons, especially the one to which he was born, winter. It was his first word.

His people worshiped a being called the Erlkonig. In the Southlands it was a representation of death, but for the Wastelanders, he was their only salvation from death. They prayed that he would stay his hand from their homes. He accepted their worship, but rarely listened.

On his third birthday, an avalanche buried his family and him in their cottage. Though they had the food to survive a few days, they could not start a fire. His parents died of exposure in two days, laying before the family's small shrine to the Erlkonig. Not understanding the truth behind his people's worship, he went and layed himself below the altar, and waited. Already watching over his parents' deaths, the Erlkonig took an interest in this small boy who so blissfully lay his life in his hands. In time, he might be of use. So the Erlkonig stayed his hand and 'helped' him.

Another two days later, the nearby village dug him out to find him still alive, but greatly changed. The color had been leeched from his body, and the warmth. Despite the cold, he was not shivering, nor showing any sign of discomfort. When he spoke the only word he knew, it became his name.

He was trained to survive in the harsh lands, to hunt and to climb. He showed a preference for the great ice picks the climbers used, even using it as a weapon. Because of his adaptation, he could not stand high temperatures, as he discovered upon visiting the Southlands. But he took long journeys in the Icelands, going to places no one had been cause the exposure would've killed them. He discovered that even he had limits.

A vision from the Erlkonig sent him on a journey to the Southlands in his 18th year. When in the south, he endured a day of hot weather. Heat exhaustion set in, and soon heat stroke became a threat. He pleaded with the Erlkonig for help. It was granted, using a sworn Oath to hold them both to the bargain.

By binding himself to the Erlkonig, he was granted several abilities. He could create a limited Aura of Cold, which would manage the temperature around him, at the price of injuries and pain (see below). Later he found another use for it in his 'Frozen' spell. His healing rate was also sped up. With the Erlkonig’s assistance, he fashioned a weapon that was a cross between the Erlkonig’s scythe and his own pick, which he called Blood-to-Ice.

At 20, the Southlands invaded the Icelands in search of the fabled gem-mines of the mountains. Winter fought with his people until the Erlkonig exacted his price, taking control of his body.

The Erlkonig was eventually cast from his body by a group of heroes when he was 22, after trying to raise an army to assault the Southlands. His abilities were not revoked, as both had kept their ends of the bargain and were bond by the Laws of the Oath, which divinely held all beings to any bargain made with a sworn Oath, as they had.

He fell in love with one of them, a woman by the name of Sye. He lived with her a half a year as a mercenary before the Rift caught him.

Oddly, the absence of the Erlkonig's divine power on Kaerwyn removes both his adaptation and powers (including fast healing), which really startles him. However, because Blood-to-Ice's magic is embedded in itself, it remains.

() How He Arrived on Kaerwyn:
While rock-climbing, he looses his grip and falls into the Rift, to be deposited in Kaerwyn. Is of the belief that the Erlkonig was trying to kill him.

() Adaptation:
Most Wastelanders are adapted to survive in temperatures lower than average--with mild discomfort in high temps.

() Magical/Psychokinetic/pathic Abilities:

None on Kaerwyn for now. Capable of learning minor healing (light wounds) and offensive spells (probably only distract/annoy someone).

When fighting, can use both hands to some degree at the same time, usually combining pick and claw.

A skill gained from living so long on his own, away from people, Winter can craft many items from leather with great skill, though armors are not his specialty. Also applies to bootmaking.

Learned by watching Sye. He only currently has the skill to clean, cut, and polish gems in their natural shapes, not to change them. Didn't bring any tools.

() Fyrewolf's Quick Desc:
Male human. 6' 170lbs. Entirely white with icy blue eyes, short spiky hair. Long hooded coat over pants and tunic, all white. Pick-like weapon attached to waist by leather cord. http://forums.kaerwyn.com/showthread.php?t=1488

() Aspirations: Oddly, I don't have any aspirations for Winter right now. I've already taught him the value of friends/family and how to act with non-humans. He's learning sword left-handed. He's looking for a weapon to replace Blood-to-Ice (probably war-pick or hammer). He also secretly wishes for wings for which to fly, but I've no clue how to go about that.

() Character Relations:

Sasaki: First person he met out of Rift. Her kindness has greatly helped him adjust. Though her anthro nature is strange to him, he tries to treat her like a human. Sadly, at least in Winter's mind, she reminds him of Sye. He keeps that line of thought closely guarded. Is very appreciative of her offer for crash space above her shop, and hopes to pay her back for it. Learning Violin from her, and otherwise enjoying company.

Raven: First Were he met and knew was one. Her breakdown in Sasaki’s shop brought both confusion and new light to her person. When she told Winter what Sasaki is feeling, he understood her concerns and considers her a good friend. He will have to think on that. . .thought.

Yelena : Mildly annoying person. Wouldn’t give straight answers and pried into him as well. Her male stripper/prostitute suggestions for a job really started to get on Winter’s nerves.

Shriana : Didn’t have a problem with her. Of course, that was until he was drunk and Yelena mentioned she was psychic and probably reading his unguarded thoughts. Maybe he was a little harsh with the “fucking mind reading” comment. Apologized for that.

Aednuhzi: Though he talked a lot about fire, and probably has too warm an aura for Winter to be comfortable around, still thinks he might be ok. At least he was friendly to Winter, though his antagonization of Bart kept Winter on edge for a fight.

Mahdis: Interesting enough person. Able to speak his original tongue, which was odd at first. Understands her a little better after the incident with Micheal and the "angel" comments.

Kat: A pretty nice person. She knows most of Winter's history due to him feeling like he needed to tell someone.

Darron: Good friend. Answered most of Winter's questions about the full moon. Winter helped a little with Alan one night. Helped with Winter's trip home, after which Winter feels he owes Darron one.
