House Tunan
A Xarax-hil nation of Errux
Capital City: Korotana's Folly
Major Seat: A'han Yashkari Iar
Minor Seat: (Presently vacant)
Key Traits
- Military service is entirely voluntary, with cities kept in order by local militias trained specifically for policing purposes.
- Culturally, the Tunani dress plainly and wear elaborate collections of jewelry to signify age, social status, career, philosophy, religion, and other lifestyle/personality traits. Neither male nor female Tunani are seen in public without an array of such items.
- Public arcanery exists in limited amounts, barring weaponized applications that are heavily restricted to military use only. Potential students may elect to study the arcane arts for proper licenses without military service obligations (as the Iiroz would require).
The Tunani are the direct descendants of those who remained loyal to the old Rhaelite despite the fall of Rhael'Korotana five hundred years ago. Anarchy and rebel occupation followed the fall, which did little to ease the tensions between loyalist and rebel parties. Years of sporadic infighting frustrated rebel citizenry to the point of driving them east to what is now Denwatch, residing in the small settlement until Bronze Pillar was excavated and made suitable for habitation. Further fueled by the Akani declaring independence a century after the fall, emigration in the Folly (as it was so named by the occupying rebels upon seizure) dramatically emptied much of the once-swarming city. As a result, most Tunani citizens reside in dwellings much larger than that of their Iirozian cousins. Natural resources remain abundant thanks to decreased demand, resulting in cheap basic goods and a disproportionate amount of secondary-schooled commoners. As such, the Folly is famous for its philosophers, writers, and artists (acknowledged even by the Iirozian nobility who keep galleries displaying the "profane" exhibits of classic Tuanani tapestries).
