Eras
Before Catastrophe:
According to the modern dating system set into place by the First Empress Anoxis Brin Ceirus; The end of the first apocalypse ends at the year 0BC. The world of the first Apocalypse is one of great technological revolution. The beginnings of two sentient races begin to evolve on Earth. One being humans, the other being
Fruhlings. Humans started their rise to cultured society around 8000 BC, in the same region that humans developed in sister universes. While Fruhlings began their own civilization in northern Europe a roughly a thousand years after humans had settled from their hunter-gatherer life-style.
Eventually Humans were forced into Africa and Asia by Fruhling expansion. This lead to Humans eventually settling the equivalents of China, Australia. The American continents were soon settled by both races. Leading to conflict, and territorial disputes, there were also disputes and major conflicts within each race as one would expect. This warring is what fueled massive technological advances for both races.
It As technology entered its prime, the discovery of the power of the atom as were among the most influential. Another was a school of thought, though not highly developed, it was that of harnessing the power of thought. The limits of natural laws could be bent, this force called magic, that could not be seen would begin to merge with technological advances. But war would soon end advances into the secrets of genetics and space travel. At the peak of this age, atomic weapons enhanced with the extraplanar power of magic began to appear. Warheads several times that of conventional atomics. A Fruhling nation would be the first to use them on, they burned away most of the life on the planet, leaving only a few sanctuaries of barely habitable land. Humans survived out of their science that had survived the war, cloning, genetics. While Fruhlings were reduced to less than a thousand living on the planet, with only shreds of the technology that had existed before.
But the fallout of the holocaust had severely damaged the Fruhling genome. Many children had staggering defects, missing arms, extra extremities. Over the course of only two hundred years, Fruhlings had diverged into two completely separate races. Eventually, the race that split off began to be called Vorhang. Fur-less creatures resembling Fruhlings, but possessing great inherent talent in telepathy.
The Intermediate
The space of time between the end of the first apocalypse and the beginning of the Imperial Era (Around Year 7500). Humans eventually fall from their technology before this point, loosing almost all of the technological knowledge they once had. At this point Vorhang were becoming increasingly more vicious in their direct approach to the elimination of other sentient races. This eventually spurred Humans and Fruhlings to become socially and economically, and religiously intertwined.
Imperial Era
It wasn't until Anoxis Brin Ceirus, a matriarch from a rather large city-state of Hone began to expand and assimilate other Fruhling/Human states that the first Empire was formed. Bringing with it mutual defense from other rogue states, as well as the communes of the Vorhang. Anoxis set into place law, and order. During her seventy year rein she commissioned texts that would later become the Basis for the
Texts. Her eldest daughter following her rein, she gave birth to a fabled seventy-three children. She is seen as a highly important religious figure, A savior and the "Mother-Prophet".
The Imperial Era produced 37 separate imperial reins. During the 25th Empress' rein, a child by the name of Gaite Calmo Ecise was born. Surviving his parent's death at the hands of a Vorhang assault, Gaite fell into the protection of the Rent clan dynasty. Later he would find himself on another world,
Kaerwyn to be exact, where he abandoned his meager life there to begin from a fresh start. Meanwhile, several centuries later would see the mass genocide of the Vorhang as a race. Engineer Sarah Rent Oppert, a brilliant descendant of the shamed Turt Rent, developed a way to kill telepaths on-mass with a special device designed to cause them irreparable neurological damage.
The Enlightened era
The demise of the Vohang also marked the slow decline in the empire's power. Eventually, it dissolved into completely separate countries, each with their own economics and interests. Eventually, technology would once again rise. Around 11,500 a world nation became a possibility due to the expansion into space, and the colonization of Mars, as well as the moon. Then came the advent of new forms of power through the help of magic, Fusion, plasma containment all became reality. With the advent of Interstellar Drive or
ISD Terrans began to move into space at a rapid rate, colonizing planets such as
Vega4 and
Ano in the process.
