Frühlings

Race Stats

Mun Knowledge

1. Poisonous substances:
Frühlings are able to consume most anything a human can consume, with exception of some opiates and acetaminophen, which are moderately toxic. Frühlings also have very high tolerance for poisons found in wild berries and fruits, this is to an extent that they can consume them without any harm being done to their body?s systems (excess consumption will cause nausea or headaches).

2. Sex:
During the months of March and April, as well as September and October, Male Frühlings become fertile. They also start producing more male hormones than normal. Males that choose not to mate during the season are often confronted with moderate pain in the genital areas. Female Frühlings, become fertile during this period as well, and they do not cycle at any other time during the year. Females however do not feel any ill effects from the increased hormones other than a slight boon to their already high sex drive.

Females only go through their menstruation cycle twice a year. And are typically only fertile twice a year. Though Fruhlings (both male and female) will typically mate even at infertile points of the year (Psst, they do it for fun); This stems from the race's need to survive early on by developing strong social bonds through sex, contact, and interaction. (Wow, just like regular old humans do).

3. Organ Placement:
Organ configuration in a Frühling is similar to a humans. Frühlings have a four chambered heart, one stomach ect. Their esophagus is more robust than a human's however, and this enables Frühlings to consume things that a human normally wouldn't.

Digestion: Fruhlings have relatively slow digestive tracts though efficient, and robust. They tend not to be able to win eating contests, and usually fill themselves quickly. They tend to have strong constitutions, and a resistance to sickness from food poisoning. If a Fruh has to throw up, usually it's pretty damn bad...or just drunken overeating. The Fruhling body reacts to dehydration by super concentrating urine, as this is a function of most feline anatomy. They are able to survive prolonged periods without water, (Max five days on average.).

4. Skeleton:
Mostly on par with a human?s skeleton with a few exceptions. Frühlings have and extra bones in their legs that aid them in absorbing impacts, and also aids jumping and running. Frühlings also have more vertebrae than humans, allowing them more flexibility.

5. Muscle Structure:
Mostly an average Frühlings upper body strength can be compared to that of an average human?s. However, the lower body is very strong and an average Frühling could easily overpower an average human?s legs, in terms of strength. Frühlings who build themselves up can easily exceed a human?s peak in lower body strength.

6. Senses:
They have senses that are just as good as any human's. However, Frühlings don't taste sugar or sweetness the same way humans do, and all Frühlings recognize it as a bad taste.

Eyes: The Fruhling eye is well developed; though they have a reflective taptum which gives them superior night sight... Their day vision is worse than mun-human, especially in very bright light. Fruhlings have excellent color perception at night, and fair during the brightest days. The design of the Fruh retina gives them an affinity for the color blue, and their eyes pick up the color better than any other (With Humans it's green, btw). Eye color is highly varied, though only natural eye colors, no glowing red eyes. And even no red eyes.

Hearing: Fruhlings have very large radomes on their heads for a reason, their hearing isn't that great. They have excellent directional acuity. They can hear tones at levels and distances on par with mun-humans. Frequency range is from 200Hz to 23,000Hz.

7. Fur: Fruhs keep the same fur coat all year long, they don't shed coats...though fur does get around if one doesn't take care of personal hygiene.

8. Homeostasis: 101.1 degrees F. Fruhlings tend not to mind very hot weather, they use good size bloodvessels in their ears to vent heat (Ears have sweat glands, as well as hands and bottom of feet), as well as breathing heavily or panting to vent heat through the lungs. Fruhs typically dislike the cold, but there are always those crazy people that like jumping into freezing water and swimming around. Fruhlings have a dive reflex, and if drowned in cold enough water the body will shut down to low vitals, making it possible to survive after exposure, any longer than ten minutes and there is high possibility of brain damage.
