Enlightened Era

Earth is the center of the Terran Republic, which now spans about thirty planet-colonies with comfortable Atmospheres. Major Colonies include Mars, Ano (Terraformed moon orbiting Jupiter), and Vega 4 (Orbiting Vega, the current north star on earth). The republic collects tribute, and keeps it's colonies protected with a very strong naval fleet. Rebellions have been squashed on Mars, as well as Vega 4 in the past. However, Piracy and Privateering is still a huge problem for commerce. Pirate vessels caught in the act are captured if possible, and the crews held for imprisonment or executed at the discretion of the local naval authority.
