() Gender: Male
() Age: 36 (Birthday is Dec 24th)
() Home Territory: Creedmoor Castle Town, Raekarta.
() Height: Human: 6’3”
() Weight: Human: 195lbs
() Physical Build: Human: Surprisingly athletic. He’s well toned, with decent musculature.
() Draconic Vessel Status: Inhabited - Draekon of Thaumaturgy (The Art).
() Physical Description:
Endymion, despite being a total nerd, is actually a rather attractive looking member of his species, that being human. His black hair is medium length, going no farther than his shoulderblades in the back. In the front, he allow it hang freely, which usually ends up curling up behind his ears. Usually he ties it back in a small ponytail. His skin is Medium in complexion, generally pale in the winter and a nice golden tan in the summer. His eyes are a piercing ice blue, almost white in appearance. He spends a lot of his free time working out, and practicing with various melee weapons. This is what gives him his rather athletic build.
() Personal Information, History, Background:
For reference's sake, he was born to Kieran (Kee-air-an) and Drambuie (Yes, like the drink) Gaelin. Note: He has only told Niixa his parents' names. Especially not his mother's name. She was named after her father's favorite drink. Hey, she was a drifter.
Orderman Gaelin was a well known instructor at the Order’s prestigious Institution for the Art in Creedmoor. He taught the lower level classes such as Basics of Art up to higher level classes of Art in Theory and Practice, and Abstraction and Development of Streamline Principles. He is considered an expert in the field of Art Theory and Streamline information. It was even he who helped the Orderguard develop the technique of cutting a Lifestream.
The catch of course is, compared to Malakai O’deran, what he knows is obsolete, as he is from her past, and from Lorelei’s past as well. Infact, he was one of the first instructors for the Order, a fledging community of mages. The “Order”, named in hopes of bringing Humanity out of the chaos that followed the Great War, came into being when he was but a child, a few years after the Tapestries were found. Once they were granted the powers of demons, they could learn more about the ancient and forgotten ways of their ancestors.
Endymion helped develop the foundation of the Order, the Art, and all they stood for. He was extremely proficient in both the art, the usage of the art, understanding of the art, and application of the art. His approach towards the art and teaching it is very strict and no-nonsense. He believes that only a trained, focus mind should be allowed to wield the art, as not to compromise the integrity of the Order, or the welfare of the populous. In his offtime, however, one may swear he’s a different person. Outside of the classroom setting, he’s rather personable, as far as an Orderman can be. He especially enjoyed coaching various afterschool athletics for the students. He rather enjoyed Rakhatball, track and field, and swimming.
() How He Arrived on Kaerwyn:
Like any good teacher, he was on his way to work promptly 3 hours earlier than necessary. Naturally he was alone, as no one else had the get up and go in the early morning hours. Upon opening the door to his classroom, he walked in, finding himself in a field, instead of a classroom.
() Magical/Psychokinetic/pathic Abilities:
The Art is of course, not “magic” per se, but one’s ability to use what others call “magic”. The art, by Order standards, is manipulation of reality based upon mind and body. That is to say that in order to manipulate the subjective nature of the physical realms, one has to have a determined, focused mind and a healthy, unhindered body. Minor things such as headaches, irritation, sicknesses, lack of sleep, etc can all affect the effectiveness of the art.
Use of the art requires energy of course. You’re not going to get away with messing with the physical without some energy exerted. The energy comes from two sources. The first is latent natural energy that is all around us: Light, Heat, Water, Wind, etc. The second is the biological being, from the streams of life. The Lifestream is a bundle, or strand of etheric energy that holds the spirit to the body. The state of the lifestream determines the health of the person. When a person grows old, the lifestream starts to degrade. When a person gets sick, the lifestream reflects it. Most Art Wielders use the lifestream to power their effects, naturally this could adversely affect their health. Long ago, the people learned that demons, natural to the land of Raekarta, could manipulate the forces of nature on a whim, without tiring. They were born with a different kind of lifestream, one that is reinforced and infused with their body from birth. Known as the
DemonStream, it is much more efficient in the use of the art than Lifestream Energy. Consider it like a higher-octane fuel for vehicles. The higher the octane, the better the performance, so long as it’s not too much that the engine can’t handle it properly. These demonstreams are known as “artstreams”. Artificial streams are granted to mages by the spirits of the Tapestries. (Might want to read BT for the explanation to that one.)
The art does not break the laws of physics; in actuality the art works with the laws of physics to achieve a goal – the result of which may appear to break the physical laws. That is to say, if a member of the Order tried to pop a building into existence without understanding the fundamental nature of a structure’s integrity (ie, Foundation) the building will not last long without constant art usage to maintain it. The matter comes from particles around them, as well as their own energy. The nature of the ethereal energy (physical and astral at the same time) allows them to manipulate matter. (It helps that Raekarta’s world is close to the etheric, which means the world is much more subjective to one’s will).
Now when it comes to beings that have will of their own, the magic is a little harder to work. The mage with the artstream has the advantage, even moreso if properly trained to use it. The subject, if they have had practice and/or training, can do some things to defend themselves from the art. The art would have difficulty hitting people where their will is strongest. That is to say that if an Order mage wanted to simply kill a person from afar, it wouldn’t work. The desire to remain alive, the ‘survival instinct’ is too strong. This can be weakened with the art, or by alternative methods. In order to kill someone with the art, (cut the lifestream) you need to prepare yourself for it, and it requires physical contact of several seconds (Which puts the Order mage at risk).
In a roleplaying setting such as Kaerwyn, if one doesn’t have at least a willpower of 4 or 5, they will not be able to prepare and defend themselves from the art. Although, they are still part of the “Survival Instinct” rule. However, if the mage throws them into a brick wall, they could be killed all the same. (The art itself doesn’t do the killing, the impact does it).
That being said, the mage will be able to use the art insofar as what they’ve been trained in. If the mage has no information on major biological systems, they will not be able to change people (without killing them). If they haven’t had any training in structural design they cannot create or repair buildings. If they can adequately and accurately visualize the effect in their minds, they can pull off great feats with or without training. They do get a lot of this training at the Order academies, which is why it takes them so long to train for the art before they’re granted an artstream.
Endymion’s training with the art is the standard of all Order mages. He has some telepathic and telekinetic abilities. He is capable of summoning the elements in a limited fashion (Wind, water, fire, etc). He can’t cause earthquakes, set whole towns on fire (at once), cause a tsunami to engulf the town, etc. He can light a campfire, or put one out. He understands the nature of the biological system and is capable of transforming someone’s ‘shell’. Mostly he uses that knowledge for healing abilities, however.
Most of his training is around the art theoretics, so it’s safe to say he’s dabbled in most subjects pertaining to the use of the art. This makes him a jack-of-all-trades, at least in knowledge, maybe not in practice. His job, essentially, is to assist other mages who are having difficulty with a particular job. He researches, theorizes, and then proposes his findings to the others. He teaches others how to think outside of the box when it comes to the art, to accomplish goals with as little art or effort as possible. His general stance is, “mundane before magic”. If it can be done without the art, do it without the art.
() Number and Description of Weaponry and Training:
* Shortsword, worn on his hip
Physical Description : It’s a generic short sword, nothing special about it.
Magical/Other : None, although he can focus his art through the sword to make it more effective.
Training : He has had some training with the sword although nothing formal. Of course, he’s from a world where only the dead can’t use a sword. He has trained with the Orderguard in the use of the weapon, as well as staff weapons and polearms. He is not an expert at any of them, but he knows enough to defend himself from a potential attack. With the art, he’s a formidable adversary.
Special Skills:
* Skill : Teacher
He is a teacher by trade, and is a very patient man, even if it does not appear to be so. (He’ll get on people’s cases, but he’ll constantly give them the opportunity to prove they’ve learned something). He enjoys teaching greatly, despite his strict and stern approach to it.
* Skill :Coach
He may not be the best coach in the world, but even he understands that all students need their offtime, preferably doing something constructive. Coaching sports is great for this as it teaches people their place on the team, responsibility, and it’s healthy! He mostly coaches for swimming events, Rakhatball (The Raekartan Tennis), and track and field.
* Skill :Problem Solving
Got a problem? He can probably figure out a solution, even if it’s not art based. Of course this requires that he has the ability to research the issue, and the understanding. If someone has a broken down car, don’t expect him to help. Though he might suggest alternatives for the car or try to find someone else that could fix it.
() Inventory:
* A few books on art history, theory, history of Raekarta, art in theory, etc. Of course this refers to magic, not painting.
* He has a couple of unused artstones on his person as well.
* Because he was a coach, and heading to school, he has some equipment for Rakhatball, which we call Tennis. He has an old style racquet and three tennis balls.
() Vehicle: None. The truck he had was lost in Baytown
() Character's (former) Career: Teacher and Coach.

() Fav. Saying/Quote:

() Form of Roleplay:
FFRP
() Aspirations for Character:
I would like to use this character to help teach magic to some of the people of Kaerwyn. He can also be used to teach characters how to defend themselves from magic and magical attacks.
() Fyrewolf's Quick Desc:
Human Male 6’3” 195 pounds. Ice Blue Eyes. Black Hair. Always has a short sword on his hip. Typically wears Raekartan style clothing.
() Character Relations:
- Niixa - The Wife. The first time they met, they got into an argument. Unintentional by the human, but the crackoon princess wouldn't back down. After that he tried to avoid her, but then fate had other plans, sending them off a leap trip together. They finally got a chance to meet, and talk, without the fighting. Through trying times they fell for each other. While it took them some time to get over the great 'species divide' they really do love each other. Now they just need to survive what shit Kaerwyn throws at them... The loving couple were happily married on Feb 14, 2008.
- Bowtie - That guy. They mostly met as they were the only two people in the tavern during the wee hours of the morning. They got to talking, and while having nothing in common, they at least... talked. Bow couldn't really help Endy with his werewolf problems, but Endy's often helped Bow with his. Go figure.
- Renard - The Drinkin' Buddy. Renard was the first person he met on Kaerwyn, and was also the first person he fought with (Against werewolves). He too was subjected to the fateful leap with Niixa, and ended up being a pillar for Endy's stability on the horrible world of Centrus. They've saved each other's asses so many times no one is sure who owes who.
- Callie - The Ice Queen. Her constant use of cultural references always throws him off. He didn't really trust her too much at first, as she always seemed overbearing and overconfident. She blamed him for some of the issues they had during the WoC2, which he had no control over. However recent events have made him respect her moreso, he's also impressed with her style of art and her abilities.
- Adela - The Annoying Child. It's no surprise to anyone that Adela annoys him incessantly. Her constantly whining, or tantrum really grates on his nerves. The few times that Endy has blown his top has been around or because of her. He is in awe at her magical abilities, however her irresponsible nature makes him believe she's a ticking timebomb - especially now that he knows what a ticking timebomb means.
- Tunc - Scooby Ally. He's not sure where he stands with Tunc at the moment, but he glad to see some responsible mages around. Tunc's helped him in the recent past, as with Callie, so he feels that Tunc is probably someone he can turn to when times get tough.
- Lorelei - That Painful Sensation. Endymion is no stranger to drifter antics, but this one really knows how to get under his skin. He respects Lore for what she's been through, and her friendship with Renard. But that certainly doesn't make him like her. She's rude, grating, insulting, and disgusting. But despite that, he knows she's responsible and trustworthy. The typical drifter.
- Malakai - The Fangirl. He really hates the way the Order of the future fawns over him like some kind of art deity. But alas, Malakai is the only other person on Kaerwyn that understands his position, as a fellow member of the Order. When he needs someone to consult, she's the first person he turns to, and vice versa. Other than that, she's kind of cute, but a little overbearing.
- Atreyus - The Best Friend. Endymion and Trey were great friends, almost inseparable growing up. During Endy's time on Kaerwyn, he often worried about the fate of his best buddy, especially after the Battle of Creedmoor. But in July of '08, during that very same battle, Trey fell through a rift to Kaerwyn. Endy and Trey aren't as close as they used to be, but they still hang out on the porch and shoot the shit like old times.
